We had a talk. The money talk. Someone insinuated that I should cut back on my spending. Now if you know me, you know that I am a thrifty shopper. I don't pay full price for anything. I hunt for bargains. My husband's complaint is that all my thrifty finds add up to a number that is not so thrifty. I admit that fabric is my big indulgence. My defense is that I am a creative soul that cannot go very long without creating something. He didn't buy this defense. So... I decided that for the time being, I will have to mend and make do.

An old shirt that lacks luster

I did get a ton of compliments today (however, I do work at a nursing home).
It did make me happy, and it was free!
Maybe this won't be so bad.

That is so cute, you are really very talented. It's so personalized and adorable. You must link this post up to Kimba's (A Soft Place to Land) DIY day. She opens DIY day for links wednesday night. You should join up!
ReplyDeleteI love it! how did you attach it on, through sewing? I just did a similar thing to a shirt as well, but I glued it on!
ReplyDelete(I agree that getting bargains means a little when you keep finding TOO many ones!!)
When I started buying lots of crafts to "expand" my business, I sold my old clothes and some furniture on craigslist... so the hubby couldn't say anything :)
Great job on the shirt!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand the problem with "too many" good bargain finds...I was going to Goodwill regularly to find cheap and vintage items for projects - until I realized I spent at least $35 a trip!!
very cute and stylish! HOT!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! You did great!
