"Thank God for Dirty Dishes,

They have a tale to tell.
While others are going hungry,
We're eating very well.
With home and health and happiness,
I shouldn't want to fuss.
For by this stack of evidence,
God's very good to us.”

Isn't that a darling little quote?
It really speaks to me about learning to look at even the little nuisances in life as blessings.
Although my home is never spotless, it's been looking quite lovely lately.  At this point in my pregnancy,
my energy is miniscule, and I'm praying every day that this "nesting" thing will kick in and feel a little less forced.

I've been trying little things like making sure I wear makeup and take the time for grooming on the weekends, instead of slumming around in my pajamas all day (which is very typical for me!). I've also been listening to music, lighting a sweet smelling candle, and putting on a cute apron to make housekeeping feel a little less chore-like.

All of these things really do help. Funny how when your home is in order it seems like everything else falls into place! I've been meal planning religiously so that my sweet hard-working husband always has something to look forward to after work. A nice meal seems to set the tone for our evenings.  Instead of complaining about how much time he spends as the computer, I have been trying to use his schedule as a cue for my sewing time.

So far I've finished most of the crib bedding, with only the crib skirt to go.  We've painted the nursery, and I have been sanding my little heart out, trying to prep the crib for paint (why did I chose a cribe with spindles?!?)

We've been taking more walks lately, and have been snuggling up to watch a movie every night.

We are falling more an more in love with this darling baby boy every day.
Yesterday was the first day Brandon could feel his kicks all the way through! I am so anxious to meet him!

I'm still always lacking in the sleep department, but our days are full and wonderful. I couldn't ask for more!

  2. This post is pure sweetness. And I distinctley remember being pregnant with both of mine, and how amazingly special it was when David could finally feel the baby move on the outside while I was feeling it move on the inside.

And gee did it ever make me smile to see the little blurb Joel Dewberry's wife left you on their blog. And the link to Minta.
